waibaraGatundu North Member of Parliament Hon Clement Kungu Waibara was today arraigned in court for conspiracy to murder. The MP was led under tight security to the court’s dockets after a three hour interrogations at the P.C.I.O office. The charges read that on diverse dates between 1st April 2010 and 31st March 2011 jointly with others who were not before court, conspired to kill Bernard Chege Mburu.

The MP appeared before Nyeri Chief Magistrate Stella Muketi where he denied the charges “I did not conspire to kill neither have I ever conspired to kill anybody” the MP said. His lawyer, Gichimu Muhoho asked the court to transfer the case to Thika where the offence is alleged to have been committed but the application was denied saying the court had no power to transfer neither did the magistrate really knew the facts surrounding the matter as the case was still fresh.

The accused was released with a cash bail of Ksh 30,000 to be heard next on 6th of June this year.
