Scrap metal dealers in Nyeri Town were this morning up in arms in a heated debate in protest over some remarks made by Nyeri Central District Commissioners during the Madaraka Day celebrations at Dedan Kimathi Stadium.

The D.C ordered all scrap metal dealers to close down due to the increased cases of vandalism in street metallic wave.The dealers, specifically from Wandalice Scrap Metal dealer behind Total Petrol Station held crisis meeting this morning and deliberated on methods to counter metal and billboards vandalism in the town. Led by the main dealer, Alex they laid down measures on how to deal with the few corrupt individuals amongst them masquerading as metal collectors while they are known criminals who cut down billboards, signposts and metallic dustbins in town.

However, all is not gloomy for the metal dealers according to Mr. Alex since they engage in a wide range of products such as bones, old bottle tops and all ranges of plastic wares.After addressing the meeting Alex finally opened his work place and business continued as usual.

Nyerionline visited the other scrap metal dealers in town and we were met by large padlocks- they had all closed down, the reason may be or may not be the D.C’s order for them to close down, we were still trailing on the answers.
