Project Officer
(Health) – to be stationed in Kiserian-Kajiado
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing training and technical backstopping to Community Health Workers in collaboration with Ministry of Health.
- Steering the implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of the project.
- Track project activities to ensure they are progressing as per the schedule.
- Maintain project Calendar, budget and ensure deadlines are met.
Key Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
- Diploma in Public Health, Community Health or Environmental Health.
- A minimum of 3 years work experience in community health and collaboration with the GoK.
- Understanding and experience in the implementation of community health strategy.
- Excellent computer knowledge (Ms-Office a MUST).
WASH Technician
to be stationed in Kiserian-Kajiado
Key Responsibilities:
- To carry out a rapid WASH needs assessment to identify new needs and harmonize with the proposed WASH activities.
- To work closely with the Project Manager and Ministries of Public Works and Public Health and Sanitation to design the most appropriate water systems including storage, treatment and distribution for new systems or rehabilitation of existing systems as highlighted in the proposal.
- To liaise closely with the Government of Kenya line Ministries throughout the planning, design and implementation stages of water and sanitation activities.
- To provide close supervision of all construction works in the field.
- Conduct field measurements and prepare and maintain detailed works reports on a regular basis or upon request from the Project Manager.
- the Water and Sanitation activities.
Key Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
- A minimum of a Higher National Diploma in any discipline relating to Water and Sanitation Engineering.
- A minimum of two years practical experience in appropriate water supplies, sanitation and hygiene promotion in the NGO set up preferably in ASAL districts.
- The ability to present concise reports, sometimes at short notice, reflecting the problems and possible solutions for particular situations.
- Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff, Ministry of Health and community volunteers
- Good understanding of the public health needs of poor rural communities and of appropriate ways of tackling them.
Project Officer
(Food Security) – to be stationed in Kiserian-Kajiado
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake the elaboration of Work Plans and Timelines.
- Coordinating Farmers Field Schools.
- Train project beneficiaries and follow up on implemented activities.
- Maintain project Calendar, budget and ensure deadlines are met.
Key Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
- Diploma in General Agriculture, Conservation/organic Agriculture, Agribusiness or Agricultural Economics.
- Field experience in community training on VSL scheme.
- A minimum of 3 years work experience consistent with the types of duties above in Rural or Community Development Projects.
- Excellent computer knowledge (Ms-Office a MUST).
- Good community mobilization skills.
